Maia

Maia is currently pursuing her degree in Immunology within the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal, having previously graduated with a college diploma in Health Sciences from Collège Sainte-Anne. As an experienced tutor, Maia specializes in personalized instruction for all academic levels, with a focus on enhancing both student performance and confidence. She is fluent in both English and French, allowing her to connect with a diverse range of students and help them overcome language barriers in their learning.

Let’s take a deeper dive

Her academic journey includes conducting notable research, with her key findings in 2023 on optimizing healing in necrotizing fasciitis. She presented these findings at a medical conference, focusing on the contribution of mesh skin grafting. Maia has also completed internships at both Montreal's Sacred Heart Hospital in plastic surgery and Jean-Talon Hospital in cranio-facial pediatric surgery.

Why Maia?

While she tutors across a variety of subjects, her absolute favorite is Secondary 4 Electrolytes and Ions. Maia is passionate about helping students reach their academic goals, often repeating her life motto to remind them to focus on the future and never give up:

“Don’t look back, you’re not going that way,”

In her free time, Maia enjoys shopping and trying out new restaurants. With her background in the medical field, she is enthusiastic about guiding students with similar passions and providing them with hope and direction for their future.
